Certified EHR Trainer conducts technical training programs for end users of EHR (electronic health record) software applications. Determines training objectives and creates lesson plans and other materials needed for training. Being a Certified EHR Trainer configures the training environment to ensure end-users can practice using EHR software both inside and outside of the classroom. Designs and delivers new hire training and ongoing user training during system changes and upgrades. Additionally, Certified EHR Trainer may be responsible for implementing a credentialed trainer program that ensures EHR instructors have the required level of system knowledge to effectively deliver training. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. Typically requires Epic/Cerner or similar certification. Job Summary :
Under the supervision of the VP of Clinical Applications, this position will work with the Epic Application team and Principal Trainer in the development, implementation, and maintenance of the Epic Training Program.
Essential Functions :
1. Learning and staying up to date on new Epic application content and training materials.
2. Assist the Principal trainer with developing and updating training materials.
3. Presenting information verbally and in writing in a clear and easy-to-understand manner.
4. Following up with trainees outside of the classroom to offer additional support.
5. Serving as an expert educator to internal staff.
6. Training staff and end users by teaching technical topics as needed.
7. Offering end user at-the-elbow support as needed.
What You Need to Succeed :
1. Skill and experience in an education and / or a training capacity.
2. Demonstrating flexibility with respect to required changes in training content and delivery methods.
3. Being cooperative and approachable and taking time to listen to and address others' questions or concerns,
4. The ability to develop and deliver formal presentations. This includes presenting information in a clear and interesting manner, commanding the audience's attention, developing effective materials, and handling questions or challenges from the audience.
5. Strong leadership and communication skills, both written and oral.
Education and Experience :
1. Experience with education and / or training
2. Knowledge of the Epic applications.
3. Knowledge of medical office workflows.
4. Minimum of three (3) years progressively responsible experience in information systems. Health care setting preferred.
Other :
1. Must be flexible, will include some evening and weekend hours.
2. Position requires 50% travel to NOMS outlying offices, which may include overnight stays.

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as laptop computers and smartphones.

Normal office environment. Work is typically performed at a desk or table requiring the use of standard office equipment.
