Certified EHR Trainer conducts technical training programs for end users of EHR (electronic health record) software applications. Determines training objectives and creates lesson plans and other materials needed for training. Being a Certified EHR Trainer configures the training environment to ensure end-users can practice using EHR software both inside and outside of the classroom. Designs and delivers new hire training and ongoing user training during system changes and upgrades. Additionally, Certified EHR Trainer may be responsible for implementing a credentialed trainer program that ensures EHR instructors have the required level of system knowledge to effectively deliver training. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. Typically requires Epic/Cerner or similar certification. The Certified EHR Trainer gains exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. Occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Position Purpose:
This position works with physicians and staff to improve their knowledge of NextGen EMR functionality, to improve clinical documentation, improve efficiency, and to assess workflows. Training is conducted in a wide variety of settings, including: small/large classrooms, one-on-one, group meetings, at-the-elbow, and web-based virtual sessions. The EMR Trainer will provide on-site support at ‘Go Live’ following end user training to guide the clinic during new system adoption. This position is also responsible for teaching the requirements of different CMS quality related programs. This position serves as the subject matter expert for testing and maintaining EMR applications. The NextGen EMR Trainer will provide ongoing support and continued education to all departments within JWCH Institute guidelines.
