Ceramics Engineer develops manufacturing processes and equipment for converting ceramics into useful products. Tests various combinations of materials to create ceramics that that are durable and economical. Being a Ceramics Engineer researches and selects the appropriate hand and power tools to be used in the production process. Tests finished ceramics to ensure quality, consistency, and durability standards have been met according to specifications. Additionally, Ceramics Engineer requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. To be a Ceramics Engineer typically requires 2 to 4 years of related experience. Gains exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function.     Your Job
    .

    • Make and repair dental appliances with an emphasis on quality, margins, consistent contacts, occlusions, and custom shades according to the Rx from the dentist
    • Review each Rx in detail; inspect all work entering and leaving the lab to ensure all quality standards and client requests are being met
    • Communicate daily with department manager about any defects or issues related to quality specifications and/or internal and external client requests or requirements
    • Meet daily unit target
    • Verify completion and accuracy of work
    • Work closely with internal clients to understand their requirements, and ensure that all requirements are being met
    • Die Prep prepare die for wax up, paint, and block out utilizing PTC methods, company quality standards, and work instructions
    • Stain & Glaze add stain and glaze to all ceramic crowns using PTC methods
    • Contour – final adjustment and contour ceramic crowns; add anatomy as needed, prepare porcelain for final stain and glaze using PTC methods

    Your Skills

    • High School Diploma or equivalent
    • Must be experienced in a similar field
    • Knowledge of dental anatomy
    • Excellent hand-eye coordination

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Ability to manage multiple tasks at once while maintaining quality work.
    • Knowledge of PTC methods and procedures.
    • Computer experience, including Microsoft Office products.

    Location:

    This position is located in Timonium, MD. Our network of dental laboratories spans six states, with labs in Florida, Connecticut, Maryland, Mississippi, Rhode Island, Texas, and New York. The Leixir Home Office is in Tampa, Florida.


    Interview Process

This will take place at the lab and will dive deeper into the role, technical knowledge, and requirements of the position. The candidate will have the opportunity to meet the team, tour the workplace, and gain a better understanding of the job’s functions.
    • Offer: The Talent Manager will reach out with the details of the informal offer for discussion. After all the details of the informal offer are finalized, the formal offer letter and job description will be sent.
