Ceramics Engineer develops manufacturing processes and equipment for converting ceramics into useful products. Tests various combinations of materials to create ceramics that that are durable and economical. Being a Ceramics Engineer researches and selects the appropriate hand and power tools to be used in the production process. Tests finished ceramics to ensure quality, consistency, and durability standards have been met according to specifications. Additionally, Ceramics Engineer requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. To be a Ceramics Engineer typically requires 2 to 4 years of related experience. Gains exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. Quality Inspector
This position ideally will work the weekend shift. Potential for 1st or 2nd shift openings:
1st shift, Four 10 hour days or five 8 hour days , 1st shift starts between 5am and 6am.
Summary of Duties
An inspector will ensure quality product reaches the customer by doing inspection of parts per customer specifications. Inspectors will have to use numerous inspection devices to ensure conformance.

Inspect and measure using various devices to customer specifications. Devices may include: caliper, micrometer, stereoscope, Starett, foot mic, depth mic, gage pins and blocks, Zygo, new view, Zeiss
Visual inspection with or without equipment based on customer requirements
Ensure parts are cleaned and ready for the follow on operations
Adapt to changes in demand/responsibilities as requested by a lead
Follow verbal and written direction
Communicate with the team and other shifts
Manage finished good inventory
Ship parts to customers per requirements
Follow Incoming Raw Material inspections guidelines and perform incoming inspections
Prepare and package parts for shipment per customer requirements
Suggest and actively participate in improvement projects
5S and general organization of your area
Follow safety measures including handling chemicals safely and wearing PPE.
Multi-task between various parts of production
Be able to work independently and be self-motivated
Enter accurate information
Complete computer transactions accurately
Perform and record quality control measurements with various tools (micrometers, calipers, pins, foot calipers, gages, additional as assigned)
Provide yield and defective part information to team on a regular basis
Documentation (log books, spreadsheets and on work orders)
Cross-training into multiple areas

Sitting for 8-12 hours a day
Regularly working around moving mechanical parts with proper guarding
Climate controlled building
Noise levels are moderate and below OSHA thresholds.
Various chemicals are used to complete the tasks at hand and proper PPE must be worn
Regular lifting up to 20 pounds, occasionally lifting up to 30 pounds, rarely lifting up to 50 pounds.
Sometimes lifting from floor to shelf or carrying short distances
Lifting from shoulder level to the floor
Regularly walking between stations to complete tasks
Occasionally going up and down a short ladder or step stool
Education, Experience or skills Required
HS Diploma or Equivalent
Basic math skills
Ability to work with small parts and tools
Basic computer skills
Written and Verbal Communication skills
Ability to discuss topics and communicate effectively with team members
Ability to work independently
Ability to multi-task between different processes as needed

Familiar with Metric and Standard Measurements
Familiar with stereoscope, caliper, micrometers, gage pins and blocks
