Ceramics Engineer develops manufacturing processes and equipment for converting ceramics into useful products. Tests various combinations of materials to create ceramics that that are durable and economical. Being a Ceramics Engineer researches and selects the appropriate hand and power tools to be used in the production process. Tests finished ceramics to ensure quality, consistency, and durability standards have been met according to specifications. Additionally, Ceramics Engineer requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. To be a Ceramics Engineer typically requires 2 to 4 years of related experience. Gains exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function.     Element has an opportunity for an Engineer to join our rapidly expanding team. As a member of the operations team, the Engineer position performs a variety of routine and non-routine testing assignments within the department assigned and insures timely and accurate test results under minimal direct supervision.  The engineer position must be proficient in a number of core business and technical skills including but not limited to compliance to established safety rules, code of conduct, and company policies and procedures.

    Salary: $80K-$100K/yr

     

    Responsibilities

    • Responsible for establishing test procedures and coordinating testing to ensure the quality level and functionality of a product
    • Be accountable for accurate and timely release of testing data to customers including signoffs of quality control data as acceptable
    • Have the ability to oversee standard and/or routine technical problem solving activities
    • Interact with customers on technical issues and questions
    • Provide input and support on business development opportunities with new or existing customers

    This is a fast-paced environment, and we need someone who is proactive, self-motivated and a team player. The person for this role will be a specialist in their field, respected by all who they work with, keen to learn and enthusiastic in the face of challenge. You will:

    • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, specifically electrical or mechanical
    • Have a minimum three to five years’ engineering experience
    • Experience in Aerospace, Defense, and/or Nuclear industries
    • Previous testing services experience preferred

     

    NOTE:  This position requires access to export-controlled commodities, technical data, technology, software, and services.  U.S. citizenship, U.S. legal permanent resident status, protected person status under 8 U.S.C. § 1324b(a)(3), or U.S. Government export authorization is required.
