Ceramics Engineer develops manufacturing processes and equipment for converting ceramics into useful products. Tests various combinations of materials to create ceramics that that are durable and economical. Being a Ceramics Engineer researches and selects the appropriate hand and power tools to be used in the production process. Tests finished ceramics to ensure quality, consistency, and durability standards have been met according to specifications. Additionally, Ceramics Engineer requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. To be a Ceramics Engineer typically requires 2 to 4 years of related experience. Gains exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function.     Automation Personnel Services is looking for a hard-working Ceramic Operator for a company based in Columbus, MS. In this role, you will primarily be responsible for the proper coating of wax patterns using a robot, manual techniques, conveyor, and other shell fabricating equipment in the ceramic room.

    Pay Rate
    $14.00 per hour

    Schedule and Hours
    Shifts Vary must be available on Saturday as well

    Operator Duties and Responsibilities

    • Perform all steps required to build ceramic shells using the robot or manual techniques.
    • Perform proper tree prep techniques to ensure ceramic bonding.
    • Prepare slurries using liquid materials and flours, checks and maintain proper viscosities, and slurry levels.
    • Load and unload conveyor.
    • Inspects shells for cracks and other flaws.
    • Perform chemistry tests on mixes, keep logs and records on temperature, humidity and production of the department, and be able to make recommended adjustments as needed.
    • Perform daily routine maintenance on all ceramic room equipment.
    • Maintain good housekeeping procedures in work area.
    Operator Qualifications and Requirements

    • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent
    • Must be able to communicate (read and write) effectively in a business environment
