    As a Process Engineer/Uniformity Engineer, you will drive uniformity improvement efforts in the Consumer business center that align with enhanced plant uniformity goals, focusing on process control and overall waste reduction.

    Essential Functions/Duties:

    • Identify, establish, and monitor enhanced uniformity systems to contribute to overall plant uniformity goals. Includes defining and implementing departmental procedures focused on standardization, equipment shutdowns, equipment alignments, and product releases.
    • Determine causes of product non-uniformities, including understanding variables associated with product design and manufacturing process.
    • Implement methodologies to ensure adequate monitoring and control of critical data as it relates to uniformity an overall quality performance, using the data to identify trends and opportunities.
    • Train and educate other departmental employees on uniformity concepts, and practices.
    • Establish, manage, and implement informative communication methods amongst other groups, including internal and external customers and departments, to effect changes that will improve product uniformity.
    • Research benchmarking references, incorporate “best practices” and implement as appropriate.
    • Supports the plant by interfacing with plant manufacturing, engineering, development, and other internal and external organizations on departmental initiatives when needed.
    • Supports the implementation of the new plant Specification System.

    Required Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

    • BS Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Technology, or a related field.
    • 1-3 years’ experience in related industry; preferably in the tire industry.
    • Strong mechanical aptitude.
    • Strong demonstrated analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills.
    • Solid PC skills utilizing Microsoft Excel & Word software applications
    • Solid understanding of product quality and waste reduction and experience in understanding product integrity required. Ability to influence floor and staff associates in all activities desired.
    • Knowledge of DOE and PDCA cycle preferred.
    • Solid understanding of statistics, statistical procedures, and basic product design. Must be analytical and able to organize data and communicate to all levels of the organization and all levels of expertise.

    The pay range anticipated for this role is $62,000 to $95,000 per year. Please keep in mind that this range represents an estimate based upon requested experience and skill sets. The actual salary offer will take into account a wide range of factors, experience, knowledge, skills, and may differ from this estimate.
