    VMTH Central Supply Supervisor

    Job Summary
    Oversees the day-to-day operations and functions of the Central Supply Unit


    Essential Job Duties
    • Effectively supervise employees assigned to the Unit.
    • Ensures that the Unit is in compliance with all standards of operation.
    • Responsible for implementation of standard operating procedures/policies and procedures and standards of sterilization standards.
    • Responsible for identifying clinical practice patterns, supply, and equipment utilization.
    • Monitors significant hospital changes that may affect the business unit and adjust accordingly.
    • Processing instrument trays and other medical [surgical equipment,
    • Maintains properly operating sterilizers.
    • Maintains accurate inventory records.
    • Maintains sterilization logbooks.
    • Order supplies and equipment from designated vendors needed for the VMTH.
    • Maintenance of a neat and organized central supply and storage areas.
    • Provides leadership and promotes team building amongst faculty and staff.
    • Facilitates effective communication among staff, management, and clinicians.
    • Ability to coordinate efforts with team members within and external to the Unit particularly with faculty, staff and students in the VMTH
    • Performs other related duties as assigned.

    Qualifications (Education, Experience and Specialized Training)
    • Bachelors’ Degree or equivalent experience
    • Central Sterile Certification is recommended
    • Minimum 3-5 years’ experience

    Physical Demands

    Skills and Attributes
    • Familiarity with sterile processing regulations
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills
      • Working knowledge of Excel, Word, Microsoft
