Central Office Equipment Technician installs, repairs and maintains office machinery and equipment. Performs preventative maintenance, replaces parts , and updates software. Being a Central Office Equipment Technician documents maintenance and service cycles of the office devices. Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Additionally, Central Office Equipment Technician may be required to complete an apprenticeship and/or formal training in area of specialty. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Central Office Equipment Technician may require 0-1 year of general work experience. Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. Computer troubleshooting and maintenance skills (hardware, software, peripherals)
Ability to troubleshoot and maintain business internet connectivity (DSL, Cable, etc.)
Ability to configure and install new or replacement PC’s, laptops, network printers,
and scanners
Strong communication skills to successfully translate technical reasons into lay terms
to resolve user issues
Desire to further career and be part of a successful team
Excellent service demeanor to support the technical needs of a user group with
minimal technical knowledge
Must be capable of handling a broad variety of client, server, and network
administration duties and be able to troubleshoot using deductive logic working
remotely and onsite
The ideal candidate will demonstrate a positive work ethic including hard work, honesty and integrity.
Must be capable of working independently, but also have the ability to collaborate in a team
environment. Congeniality, patience and professional attitude and appearance are all essential.

network devices, desktops, and servers hosting a variety of applications. Responsibilities include
installing and configuring PC and Mac hardware on networks including routers, switches,
workstations, servers, cabling, peripherals, mobile devices and printers. Software you’ll support
includes MS Windows Server, Hyper-V, MS Office, backups, Quickbooks, SQL, Remote Desktop,
Anitivirus and Security software, VPN’s, TCP/IP, and more.
