Job Summary:
Our Catering and Sales Manager is responsible for selling, planning, coordinating, and managing all aspects of private events and meetings held at the Corinthian Yacht Club located in Tiburon, CA. The Club was founded in 1886 and has a membership of 580. Our Catering & Sales Manager partners with the General Manager, the Executive Chef, and various Club committees to provide outstanding dining and banquet services. Essential Functions and Responsibilities
The Catering & Sales Manager will develop and implement effective marketing plans, establish and maintain relationships with vendors, prepare pricing estimates and contracts for events, and interface with clients and the Executive Chef to plan event details. Supervision of staff and hands-on management at events is a must. The Catering & Sales Manager will place purchase orders as needed, prepare regular sales reports for the General Manager and Finance Committee and work to ensure the profitability of the department.
Job Duties
Marketing (40%):
· Generate a definitive sales and marketing plan to achieve department revenue goals.
· Design custom marketing brochures and flyers.
· Create and customize back-office-items such as group contracts, banquet event orders, wedding timelines and event itineraries, chef’s orders and wedding tastings.
· Prospect for new group sales leads through regular cold calls and online research.
· Network to obtain leads and build relationships with new and existing clients.
· Keep image libraries and website updated on an ongoing basis with visuals that are on-brand; secure the rights to use event images from clients.
Events (40%)
· Attend and manage all private and Club hosted events.
· Schedule and lead tours for potential clients and event planners.
· Communicate and collaborate with clients or planners, other departments, and in-house committees to plan and manage all aspects of private events and meetings.
· Respond with a sense of urgency to guest concerns during events and work to achieve satisfactory resolution.
· Coordinate event tastings, timelines, banquet event orders, chef orders, food and beverage orders, and rental orders with clients and the catering team.
Triple seat software knowledge is a plus.
· Use Club Essential software to price events, utilizing all aspects of the program.
· Prepare cost estimates, customize contracts to meet client and property requirements; obtain GM approval for details beyond customary provisions and house policies.
· Record signed contracts in the Club calendar, generate accurate and consistent bills, and collect installment payments promptly.
· Establish and maintain relationships with vendors and clients, procure event photos, record client and vendor feedback at the conclusion of the event.
Management (20%)
· Track information and data to provide regular management reports as requested by the General Manager.
· Work with the management team to define and achieve business objectives.
· Assess trends, team performance, and the general group sales climate to make suggestions to improve revenue and production.
· Attend management meetings as required.
· Provide management oversight as needed to the restaurant and bar.
· Maintain staff lists and guidelines; work with HR and/or staffing agencies to ensure appropriate staff levels for events in order to ensure excellent service in line with budget parameters.
· Organize and maintain catering and banquet supplies, conduct inventory, and make purchases as needed.
· Communicate matters of importance to the General Manager immediately.
Required Education and Experience
· AA degree or higher in hospitality, communication, marketing, or equivalent experience required
· 1 years of hospitality sales
· 1 years of staff supervision
· 2 years of hands-on event coordination
· Proven experience working in restaurants and catering delivering high levels of guest satisfaction
