Catering Manager plans, directs, and coordinates catered events for an establishment. Negotiates contracts, assists in the selection of menu items, schedules catering staff, arranges for facilities or equipment, and communicates customer needs to the appropriate personnel. Being a Catering Manager develops and maintains catering accounts by ensuring customer satisfaction before, during, and after the event. May require a bachelor's degree. Additionally, Catering Manager typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Catering Manager supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/ production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. To be a Catering Manager typically requires 3-5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor.     Position: Pearl Catering is a group of fun, creative and passionate individuals committed to sharing our expertise and talent within hospitality, food and beverage industry. The catering sales managers primary function is to increase revenues and profits by generating catering sales and business (social, corporate, wedding) through proactive sales efforts within the community.

    Duties:

    • Boots on ground sales mentality. Actively walking streets, calling companies to proactively sell catering and events
    • Attend trade show, community events, industry meetings.
    • Utilize sales and hospitality experience to develop relationships
    • Communicates regularly with key wedding planners, social contact and other industry support to establish partnerships and relationships.
    • Determine customer requirements and propose catering options
    • Ability to provide menus, oversee equipment, food, and service preparations at events
    • Provide accurate and concise information to all departments (chef, execution crew, planners) via Banquet Event Orders

    Position Requirements:

    • 1-2 years of sales experience preferred
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
    • OLCC and Food Handlers license or able to obtain both
    • Event planning experience preferred but not required
    • Knowledge of event planning CRM preferred
    • Ability to work nights and weekends

    Job Type: Full-time

    Pay: $50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
