Catering Manager plans, directs, and coordinates catered events for an establishment. Negotiates contracts, assists in the selection of menu items, schedules catering staff, arranges for facilities or equipment, and communicates customer needs to the appropriate personnel. Being a Catering Manager develops and maintains catering accounts by ensuring customer satisfaction before, during, and after the event. May require a bachelor's degree. Additionally, Catering Manager typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Catering Manager supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/ production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. To be a Catering Manager typically requires 3-5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor.     POSITION SCOPE:

    Great Circle Catering is gearing up for a busy event season and adding to their event staff. This is a part-time per diem position with evening and weekend hours. The GCC Event Staff has a lot of fun and is responsible for providing exceptional customer service to guests at events.

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Assist with the set up and/or break down event
    • Provide customer service
    • Be sensitive to dietary restrictions, allergies and special needs
    • Ensure steady flow of service
    • Maintain cleanliness of all working areas and attire
    • Prepare and/or serve food and beverages
    • Other duties as assigned

    REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES

    • Proven Customer Service Experience
    • Food Service Experience/ TIPS Certified highly desirable
    • Exceptional Interpersonal skills
    • Ability to remain calm and courteous under pressure
    • Ability to make decisions in the moment
    • Attention to detail
    • Excellent verbal communication
    • Ability to learn/ use POS systems
    • Excellent time management and organizational skills.
    • Good attention to detail.
    • Valid Driver’s License with clean record
    • Must pass drug screening

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

    • Ability to lift, carry, push and pull up to 30 lbs.
    • Ability to stand for long periods of time
    • Flexibility in working varied shifts, early morning and evening
