Negotiates contracts, assists in the selection of menu items, schedules catering staff, arranges for facilities or equipment, and communicates customer needs to the appropriate personnel. Being a Catering Manager develops and maintains catering accounts by ensuring customer satisfaction before, during, and after the event. May require a bachelor's degree. Additionally, Catering Manager typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Catering Manager supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/ production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. To be a Catering Manager typically requires 3-5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. Under the general supervision of the Catering Manager, the Catering / Aspen Grille Service Manager provides leadership, direction and outstanding customer service for LSC Catering events and in the Aspen Grille restaurant.
The position is responsible for engaging with clients hosting events both at the LSC and in spaces across Northern Colorado where our services are ordered, and ensuring their catering expectations are exceeded and the food and beverage part of their experience adds value to the clients event.
The Catering / Aspen Grille Service Manager serves as an educator to student employees and is guided by defined student success initiatives that aim to help develop student employees and give them tools during their experience that will give them confidence and assist them after graduating from CSU.
The Catering / Aspen Grille Service Manager is responsible for service functions of the Aspen Grille, including but not limited to : customer service policies, front of house training, point of sale functions, procedures, scheduling assistance, supervision, feedback
