Southland Restaurant and Catering Moyock, NC is seeking a food prep staff team member. Prefer experience in batch recipe prep, food handling and safety and at least 1 - 2 years prior food service experience. Person will be only be considered if able to work at least 25 hours a week and able to be scheduled for the demands of the business. Typical work schedule will be 8am - 3pm or 3pm - close and includes some weekends. Duties will include large and small batch recipes for portioning for food line and catering events, cleaning and stocking of prep areas and work space, washing and cutting of vegetables, slicing meats, light baking, salad bar prep and refills, and organization and rotation of walk in coolers, fresh foods and prep inventory. Position requires lifting up to 40-50 lbs, standing for long periods, and strict attention to food safety guidelines, personal hygiene and appearance. Person will be asked to take direction from BOH prep supervisor but be asked to delegate some responsibilities to others on prep team. Must be detail oriented, and able to work at a moderate pace. Wage based on experience, and you will be bonus pay eligible based on profit.
