    Description

    SUMMARY: 

    Under the general direction of the Senior Director of Casino Operations, the Director of Marketing provides strategic direction, day-to-day leadership and support for the casino marketing team.  The Director of Marketing is responsible for oversight and management of all activities related to conceptualizing, planning, managing and implementing marketing goals, tactics and ensures all activities performed are within the enterprise’s strategic business objectives, budget guidelines, mission statement and service standards.  All duties are to be performed in accordance with BlueWater Resort & Casino departmental policies and procedures.  Specific responsibilities include business and marketing development, marketing research, strategic planning, promotions, advertising and entertainment.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Provides direction in the area of market planning, strategy and management. 
    • Prepares and manages the annual marketing plan.  
    • Prepare and monitors the annual marketing budget.
    • Provides leadership and direction for all database and direct response marketing, including website, social media, print production, mailings, advertising and entertainment. 
    • Responsible for generating comprehensive, efficient and effective advertising campaigns that maximize our core demographics and support our strategic objectives. 
    • Work directly with outside Media Company to produce the most effective and costly television, radio and billboard advertisement. 
    • Approve the production of all radio, television and billboard advertising. 
    • Supervise, research, evaluate, and schedule all newspaper and billboard print.
    • Develop and implement all on-site advertising and marquee advertising on a timely basis. 
    • Provide public and community relation programs including new releases publicity functions and story ideas.  Work with outside research companies to collect and analyze data from target market areas. 
    • Ensures compliance with Gaming Compact, NIGC MICS, BlueWater Resort & Casino rules and regulations and department policies and procedures. 
    • Delegate authority and assign responsibilities. 
    • Supervise the marketing team and review staffing levels to maintain budget guidelines. 
    • Ability to work flexible hours, shifts, or days as determined by business demands.
    • Maintain compliance and always adhere with all applicable laws, gaming regulations, internal controls, Employee Handbook, and policies and procedures.
    • Complies with BlueWater Resort & Casino rules and regulations and ensures that all employees are in compliance, and complies with Federal, State and Tribal laws. 
    • Ensure compliance with company and OSHA safety standards. 
    • All other duties as assigned and / or directed (maintaining segregation of duties).

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

    • Experience with direct responsibility for Player Development/Host Program.  
    • Demonstrate understanding of the principles, process and structure of marketing. 
    • Financial management skills to plan, execute and measure results of marketing strategies. 
    • Excellent organizational skills needed to effectively plan, execute, and direct marketing efforts and resources. 
    • Professional communication and interpersonal skills required. 
    • Demonstrate effective verbal and written communication skills.  
    • Flexible schedule and able to work outside the standard workweek as business needs dictate. 
    • Must be computer literate in word processing, spreadsheets, database, email and the internet. 

    QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:

    • Bachelor degree (preferred) and Ten (10) years of experience in an executive market management position. 
    • Marketing management and supervisory experience with direct responsibility for the marketing budget and all marketing operations including, advertising, promotions & entertainment, database marketing, public relations and players club.

    • Indoor office environment.  This position regularly works indoors but occasionally work outdoors during events. 
    • The noise level in the work environment is generally quiet to moderate and may become excessively noisy at times.  
    • Position is in a fast-paced environment. 
    • Smoke filled environment at times. 
    • Will have contact with employees, external agencies and the public.
