Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Caterer to join our team. As a Caterer, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of catering operations, including inventory control, banquet preparation, and team management. This is a dynamic role that requires strong leadership skills and a passion for the food industry.
Responsibilities:
- Food production and preparation for Catering Events
- Create, prepare, and design presentation of all food menus
- Maintain consistency and quality in taste and presentation of food for large events
- Communicate effectively with the catering Coordinator to continuously improve execution of high-end events
- Ensure that sanitation practices and kitchen safety standards are followed
- Ensure that the Kitchen operates in a timely manner that meets our quality standards for each catered event
- Communicate effectively with vendors to ensure the best quality to price ratio is met for all ingredients purchased
- Order supplies to stock inventory correctly
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen
- Resourcefully and creatively solve any issues related to food shortages, food preparation mistakes, and/or additional guests, that may arise. Need to seize control of any problematic situation.
Requirements:
- 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in a similar position
- Vast culinary knowledge and the ability to get creative with various cuisines
- Knowledge of dietary restrictions and the ability to create menus accordingly
- Understanding of safe food handling policies and procedures
- Flexible with availability for some offsite catered events
- Excellent communication skills with clients, guests, and coworkers
- Problem solving and critical thinking skills
- Time management and organizational skills
May require passing a cooking and technical skills examination.
