Job Summary
We are seeking a Catering Coordinator is to oversee catering sales efforts and food service at Salted Melon. In this position, you are responsible for selling Salted Melon's catering menus and executing the catering. Most of our events are corporate lunches and small social gatherings so you must be comfortable managing staff and working with a high volume of food and beverage. You will also book events, which will require strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills. Our ideal applicant has several years of experience in catering and/or hospitality. Business administration training is also beneficial.
Catering Coordinator Duties and Responsibilities
- Will oversee all catering operations of home restaurant. Administration of complete catering order, from start to finish.
- Use sales and marketing skills to gain new catering clients.
- A customer service, food production, and delivery position for an individual who is organized, detail oriented, and has great service focus.
- Assist with general store operations when there are no caterings and/ or during peak business hours.
- Assist Chefs with food production/plating/assembly as needed.
- Keep work area neat and clean while following all safety and sanitation procedures.
- Display an ability to interact positively with all team members, managers, and clients on a consistent basis.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license, have reliable transportation, and make local deliveries.
- Coordinate routes based on delivery times and proximity to events.
The primary responsibility of a Catering Coordinator is to develop existing business and solicit new catering business through catering lead generation and catering sales marketing. A Catering Coordinator solicits new catering customers through traditional and non-traditional sales techniques. Other important duties include booking, selling, planning, and coordinating all special events while assuring the highest level of customer service. Generating revenue, establishing new accounts, monitoring booking space, booking repeat business while keeping quality consistently high, conducting catering sales presentations and catering sales calls also falls under the purview of a Catering Coordinator.
