Category Manager develops the overall strategy for a product category and researches new product options in the category to drive sales and achieve targets. Leads a team that provides category insights and proposals by analyzing marketing and customer data and monitoring relevant market conditions. Being a Category Manager works closely with sales team to determine optimal pricing through analysis of sales trends, competitors, buying habits and planograms of products to promote sales opportunities. Provides effective promotional materials. Additionally, Category Manager may develop special arrangements with vendors to enhance product promotions. Requires a bachelor's degree of marketing. The Sr. Retail Category Manager will lead the strategy for a grouping of retail categories across our 252-store chain, reporting to the SVP Sales, Marketing & Innovation. The Sr. Retail Category Manager will be the one responsible for the pricing and overall promotion of their category portfolio to maximize consumer appeal and increase the sales and profitability of the business while driving sustainable growth. Relationship with vendors and product range management will also be part their duties. The ideal Sr. Retail Category Manager must have extensive experience in understanding consumer demand in the fast-paced retail environment. They must be a self-starter with an internal desire to lead, learn, and grow while possessing a commercial mindset and full comprehension of marketing and sales strategies and principles. Category responsibilities will include all general merchandise categories, as well as in-store services (air, lottery, ATM, etc.). Will also be responsible for finding new in-store service offerings to expand our business and deliver value to our customers.
Foodservice / QSR
Individual will own all food service categories, as well as manage numerous QSR concepts within our stores. Prior food service / QSR experience a plus.
