Category Management Analyst provides insights and recommendations to optimize new product introductions, distribution, shelving, price and promotional mix by analyzing marketing and customer data. Analyzes and assesses category/brand performance to develop enhanced marketing and sales plans and promotions. Being a Category Management Analyst conducts market specific assessments of competitors, vendors, and customers to support decisions and influence management. Requires a bachelor's degree. Additionally, Category Management Analyst typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Category Management Analyst gains exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. GENERAL DUTIES OR EXPERIENCE:
Management Analysts at KMS are responsible for defining the nature and extent of problems by analyzing relevant data including annual revenues, employment, and expenditures. They may interview managers and employees and observe daily operations to recommend workplace and management solutions. The Management Analyst will seek to understand the nature and culture of the organization, both internally and as it relates to others.
Lastly, Management Analysts prepare and share their findings in an oral or written presentation. They consult and collaborate with the management team to implement suggestions or spearhead initiatives deemed necessary.
Level I
Desired Experience:
3 years of experience in engineering/science management, operations research analysis or financial/cost analysis.
Level II
Desired Education:
Bachelor's Degree in a business or technical field.
Desired Experience:
7 years of experience in engineering/science management, operations research analysis or financial/cost analysis. Significant experience in U.S. Navy programs or operations.
Level III
Desired Education:
Bachelor's or Advanced Degree in a business or technical field.
Desired Experience:
10 or more years of experience in engineering/science management, operations research analysis or financial/cost analysis. Significant experience in U.S. Navy programs or operations.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
The typical workday is eight hours in length. Some flexibility in hours is allowed, with concurrence from the supervisor. The employee must be available during the “core” work hours of 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and must account for the hours in a pay period to maintain full-time status.

Up to 10% travel may be required.
