Category Analyst

Position Summary

The Category Analyst is focused on leading projects to ensure that the Tools and Supplies Department increase efficiency and productivity. The role requires strong analytical and research skills to take relevant data (sales/inventory/shipping, external competitive lines, etc) and distill them into solutions. This is a Full-time salary position based in Albion, ME. 2/3 hybrid after probationary period

Responsibilities

• You provide category analyses and consumer insights using a range of data sources, including competitor assortments and pricing, product, and sales.
• Collect and organize disparate pieces of information into clear and concise business cases, presenting internally and to customers.
• You access relevant information, interpret results, and draw conclusions to support the business case for each project.
• You will be responsible for mining data.
• You partner with the marketing team to accurately track the performance of marketing programs, new item introductions, etc.

Education

· Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, or IT.

· 3-5 years of relevant experience.

Qualifications & Skills

· You are highly analytical with solid Excel skills, and Excel dashboard experience, including building pivot tables.

· Comfortable working with customers and vendors and has a broad understanding of products and customer needs.

· Ability to organize, prioritize, self-manage, and seek help when necessary.

· Excellent written and oral communication skills.

· Punctuality and able to hit concrete deadlines.

· Ability to travel domestically, as required.

· Ability to function as part of a team.

· Must have demonstrated skills in project management and data analysis.

Physical Requirements

· Capable of physically working outdoors.

· Ability to lift and bend (up to 20 lbs. occasionally.
