Casino Pit Manager manages and directs the daily activities for an assigned area of the casino. Surveys the casino floor and looks for players that are cheating and removes suspected card counters. Being a Casino Pit Manager observes gaming personnel for evidence of theft or ties to dishonest players. May require a high school diploma or its equivalent. Additionally, Casino Pit Manager typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Casino Pit Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. Extensive knowledge of department processes.     Under the direction of the Director of Operations, the incumbent will be responsible for developing an environment that creates excitement for guests and team members while developing and retaining highly skilled teams in in all areas of casino operations.

    Duties and responsibilities

    • Exhibit conduct in accordance with all Illinois Gaming Board (IGB) Rules and Regulations, Federal and State laws and regulations, and Company and departmental policies and procedures.
    • Consistently deliver positive, courteous, and professional guest service in all interactions with guests, visitors, vendors, and fellow employees.
    • Proactively seek opportunities to continually improve all areas of operations.
    • Participate in setting and managing department goals, objectives, operating standards, and guidelines.
    • Responsible for ensuring the facility is in excellent physical condition.
    • Recruit, select, train, coach, counsel, recognize and retain direct reports who consistently perform actions and behaviors that reinforce excellence in business operations and guest service.
    • Stay abreast of current trends and practices within area of responsibility and communicate pertinent information to management, peers, direct reports, and employees as appropriate.
    • Promote positive public/employee relations at all times.
    • Maintain a clean, safe, hazard-free work environment within area of responsibility.
    • Safeguard the confidential information of all employees, department and company records.
    • Demonstrate a commitment to ensuring responsible gaming and responsible alcohol service by discreetly notifying appropriate management of concerns and observations.
    • Ensure prompt and discrete notification to senior management and/or the Ethics Hotline of any observation of illegal acts and/or internal ethics violations.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    • High School diploma or equivalent required.
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management or related field and at least 5 years of experience in casino operations along with 3 years of leadership experience, or an equivalent combination of training, education, and experience which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position.
    • Ability to obtain a gaming license.
    • Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends and holidays is required.
    • Ability to deliver a service level which creates an atmosphere that makes our guests want to return, giving each guest a positive, memorable experience.
    • Competent with PCs; including Microsoft Office programs, and reporting systems, etc.
    • Ability to research, analyze and interpret data/information to make effective business decisions.
    • Ability to develop, execute, and link strategic department objectives to company goals.
    • Commitment to routinely go above and beyond in the accomplishment of position responsibilities in an effort to play a role in the achievement of organizational goals.
    • Must present an image of excitement and enthusiasm, while being able to project a professional appearance and demeanor.
    • Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills.
    • Display strong work ethic and teamwork.
    • Must possess basic mathematical skills to include ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide specific to position responsibilities.
    • Ability to read and understand all policies and procedures.
    • Must be able to communicate effectively with guests, team members and management in English, specific to position duties and responsibilities.
    • Must be able to complete standard forms and reports.
