    This is a working supervisor position in the food service equipment industry where you and your team bring to life upgrades and transformations of industrial kitchens. This position will oversee installations over a wide territory which might include some travel. Ideally this candidate would live in or around Salina, KS, area which is where the Sunflower Equipment company is located.


    Summary: As a working supervisor, the supervisory duties will be overseeing the work process, supporting the daily operations of the installation team, and serving as a vital link between outside vendors and the Project Manager. Installation duties will include installing various kitchen fixtures and appliances.


    Duties:

    Supervisory Responsibilities

    • Collaborate with the Project Manager, Sales, and contractors to facilitate effective project execution so that projects are completed as desired by the company, at the determined time and at or under the determined cost.
    • Coordinate projects through all phases, including initial set-up, purchasing, customer communication, shipment of products, and project reconciliation.
    • Assist as needed with the recruitment, onboarding, and training of internal hires as well as third-party independent contractors.
    • Set up, communicate, and monitor the timeline of the project, as well as staying on top of the materials and labor hours that are accruing.
    • Ensure that all parties are following job site safety rules and regulations.
    • Perform administrative duties as needed to ensure that the Project Manager and Controller have the information needed for expenses and costing reports.
    • Verifying delivered items to paperwork and communicating discrepancies as needed.
    • Attention to detail to complete on-site installation and finishing activities during installation, punch list items, and clean up from trips for assigned projects.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Installation Responsibilities

    • Read and interpret kitchen design plans and blueprints to determine installation requirements.
    • As needed, will remove old equipment for disposal.
    • Measure and cut materials to fit specifications, ensuring proper fit and alignment.
    • Install equipment and ensure proper connections, then test for functionality and address any issues or defects.
    • Adhere to all safety regulations and practices.
    • Maintain a clean and organized work area throughout the installation process.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Experience & Qualifications:

    • At least 3 years of related handyman experience required.
    • Driver's license and acceptable driving history is required.
    • Strong knowledge and experience of power tools, drills, saws, grinder, etc., is required.
    • Ability to read constriction prints is required.
    • Basic computer skills preferred.
    • Prior lead or supervisory responsibilities is helpful.

    Physical Requirements:

    • Must be able to sit for long periods at a time for travel to work locations.
    • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds frequently, and up to 80 pounds occasionally.
    • Must be able to perform a multitude of physical activities (stand / walk / bend / squat / stoop / kneel) on a regular basis when performing installations.
    • Must be able to climb a ladder as needed.
