Job Summary :

Oversee the day-to-day operations of cash flow, and to ensure that all transactions related to money including deposits, withdrawals, and payments are handled properly and in a timely manner.

Establish and enforce proper accounting methods, policies, and principles. Oversee and lead the end-to-end process related to cash accounting including, but not limited to : bank and cash account reconciliations, journal entries related to properly accounting for cash, proper balance sheet presentation of cash items, and month end close.

This role will also closely interact with other accounting leaders to ensure proper understanding of cash related transactions, as well as relevant treasury teams.

Job Responsibilities and Requirements :

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Oversees and manages various tasks within cash accounting, including data analysis, reconciliations, journal entry preparation, regulatory financial statement preparation and analysis, process documentation, and special projects as assigned.
• Oversees reconciliation of unapplied cash, patient vs. non patient cash, and clearing accounts.
• Performs month-end and year-end close activities related to cash.
• Develops, implements, and continuously improves policies, procedures, and processes related to cash accounting.
• Works closely with Treasury and Optum for any additional needed inputs and to ensure accuracy of cash accounting activities.
• Resolves escalated or complex issues that require managerial intervention or involve other process areas.
• Partners with shared service accounting leads and business counterparts to ensure understanding of key business inputs.
• Reviews financial statements and conducting audits to ensure compliance with laws and regulations.
• Responsible for management functions including activities related to staffing such as recruitment, hiring & performance evaluation.
• Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration

EXPERIENCE

• Extensive experience of 5-7 years in either Accounting, Finance, and / or Business Operations
• Strong cash management accounting knowledge and experience
• Experience with implementing / integrating processes in SAP or S / 4 Hana is preferred
• Prior experience in Finance Operations including transformation, system integration, and / or process automation

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Frequent lifting / carrying and pushing / pulling objects weighing 0-25 lbs.
• Frequent sitting, standing, walking, reaching and repetitive foot / leg and hand / arm movements.
• Frequent use of vision and depth perception for distances near (20 inches or less) and far (20 feet or more) and to identify and distinguish colors.
• Frequent use of hearing and speech to share information through oral communication. Ability to hear alarms, malfunctioning machinery, etc.
• Frequent keyboard use / data entry.
• Occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, squatting, twisting and gripping.
• Occasional lifting / carrying and pushing / pulling objects weighing 25-50 lbs.
• Rare climbing.
