    Your New Role…

    The Case Manager/Parent Support Specialist provides engagement and case management services with an interdisciplinary, multi-agency team to high-risk youth who are homeless or at-risk of homelessness and who may be pregnant or parenting. The responsibilities of this position include intake and assessment; individual and group counseling; crisis intervention; case planning and contracting; parent and child development support; resource brokerage and referral; case coordination and advocacy; follow-up and after care; provision of clinical and financial record keeping related to job duties.

    Knowledge & Skills:

    • Understanding of the issues of substance abuse, mental health, trauma, abuse and adolescent development including brain development
    • Demonstrated knowledge of pregnant and parenting issues and infant and toddler development
    • Experience, ability and commitment to working with sexual minority and culturally diverse staff, participants and community
    • Excellent communication, organization, creativity, flexibility, optimism, positive humor and overall interpersonal skills
    • Knowhow to manage crisis by having the ability to recognize and provide appropriate intervention as needed
    • Ability to provide prenatal, parenting and child-development education and facilitate connection of youth with healthcare services and/or labor/delivery classes
    • Ability to exhibit flexibility by providing services in non-traditional settings (outside of traditional settings)

    Education & Experience:

    • Bachelor's degree and minimum of three years' experience working with high-risk youth required. Master’s Degree in counseling, psychology, early childhood education, child development or social work preferred
    • Experience, ability, and commitment to working with sexual minority and culturally diverse staff, participants and community
