POSITION SUMMARY
This position acts as the Skills Trainer/Behavior Modification Specialist for the agency. This position is responsible for providing skills training to the agency’s clients in the program under the direction of a licensed provider. This position serves as a member of an integrated team. Position functions to provide assistance to individuals to aid in the development of individual skills to improve quality of life and promote independent living in the community, while making changes toward recovery and management. Services will be provided in-person. Position will provide community-based services in the client's preferred location.
SPECIFIC DUTIES
· Responsible for role-specific direct services in adherence to productivity standards and in accordance with agency standards.
· Provide both individual and group skills training using evidence-based interventions. This service provides individuals with needed and desired skills to improve functional impairments affected by the individual’s behavioral health diagnoses and symptoms to meet rehabilitation goals.
· Skills Training will include, but is not limited to, the following:
· Assist in the development and periodic revision of the Integrated Service Plan. (This plan is reviewed and updated at least every three months to reflect the accomplishments and changing needs.)
· Complete all documentation in accordance with agency standards including documentation in an electronic health record and creating a charge slip; this includes, but is not limited to, content expectations and timeliness standards.
· Report to the Director of Clinical Services for guidance and problem solving.
· Attend supervision, consultation, and training as directed and as required to maintain ability to provide Skills Training services.
· Provides Targeted Case Management Services and follows the duties assigned for this service.
· Eighty percent of this position may be working in the field with clients.
· Provide necessary documentation of incidents regarding clients.
· Attend Prairie Harvest Mental Health staff meetings and other staff meetings as needed per client assigned.
· Maintain availability to be on-call on a rotation basis.
· Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS – EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
· Master's degree in psychology, social work, counseling, education, child development and family science, human services or communication disorders. Or a bachelors' degree in one of the above fields and two years of work experience in the respective discipline. Or a Licensed Baccalaureate Social Worker (LBSW). Official transcripts and degrees are required at the time of employment offer, copies may be submitted with application or interview.
· Behavior Modification Attestation Form may be required based on degree and licensure.
· Knowledge of the principle concepts needed to perform and/or direct duties related to the care and treatment of the mentally ill.
· High degree of interpersonal skills to be able to communicate with, motivate and/or facilitate behavioral changes in others.
· Knowledge of development and dynamics of family and human interactions.
· Knowledge of local resources available to clients in the community.
· Ability to organize, direct and coordinate the Mental Health Technicians activities in a manner conductive to the benefit of the client.
· Working knowledge of community services.
· Computer literacy to include Microsoft Office programs
· Knowledge of Medicaid Programs.
