Case Manager - Alcohol or Drug coordinates the overall plan of care for patients with alcohol or drug problems from admission to discharge. Acts as a liaison between patient/family and service delivery personnel to ensure patients are effectively evaluated and treated. Being a Case Manager - Alcohol or Drug works with management to maintain and improve overall quality of services. Typically requires a bachelor's degree in a related field. Additionally, Case Manager - Alcohol or Drug requires a valid Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor(LCDC) license. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Case Manager - Alcohol or Drug occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Gaining exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function.     Description

    JOB DESCRIPTION: Certified Drug and Alcohol Counselors assist individuals throughout the recovery process, helping them gain skills, access resources, and regain the confidence to succeed in society. Peer Support Specialists will provide individual counseling services, recovery interventions, mental and behavioral health modalities to individuals in a group setting. Certified Drug and Alcohol Counselors will help individuals to develop and practice healthy coping strategies and techniques. Certified Drug and Alcohol Counselors will assist individuals to strengthen life skills in a variety of life domains, including, but not limited to: physical and mental well-being, interpersonal communications and relationships, social interactions, behavioral conduct, adaptive coping strategies and behaviors, and community resources/referrals.

    MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITES:

    • Associates degree in human services, social work, psychology, education, sociology, or other related field preferred.
    • One year or more of experience in a group counseling setting preferred.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Strong organizational and time management skills.
    • Contribute, implement and incorporate community-based activities and programs
    • Complete all necessary documentation in an accurate and timely fashion
    • Provide resources/referrals as needed
    • Experience with facilitating support/community groups
    • Schedule and Conduct individual, group sessions, and regular appointments with clients
    • Establish positive and trusting relationships with clients
    • Maintain the strictest confidentiality of each client
    • Participate in weekly supervision and staff meetings
    • Assist with outreach efforts
    • Assist client with developing treatment goals and action plans
    • Interact with multi-disciplinary treatment team
    • Facilitate groups in an open and welcoming environment
    • Help participants understand and employ recovery strategies
    • Maintain regular contact with referral sources as indicated

    JOB REQUIREMENTS:

    Education: Associates Degree

    EXPERIENCE: 1 Year

    OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

    • Minimum of a high school diploma. Associates degree in human services, social work, or a related field preferred.
    • Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor or Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC/LCADC)
    • Previous experience in the substance use disorder field
    • Minimum of one-year experience with group facilitation.
    • Demonstrate high level of cultural competence
    • Responsiveness to the needs assessment for each client
    • Able to work a flexible schedule
    • Valid NJ drivers license
