Carpenter jobs in Madison, WI
Carpenter constructs, maintains, and remodels buildings or related structures. Installs, fixes, or modifies all aspects of a building, including walls, ceilings, floors, and stairs, as well as related structures like railings, doors, windows, and air conditioning systems. Being a Carpenter follows blueprints and plans to ensure requirements and specifications are met. Observes all worksite safety procedures and guidelines. Additionally, Carpenter inspects buildings to determine repair that needs to be done. An apprenticeship and/or formal training may be required. Typically requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Carpenter works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. Responsibilities for Carpenter:
- New construction framing and finish work
- Commercial ground up and interior remodel projects
- Listen and think critically, take direction and feedback from Superintendent, and communicate effectively.
- Participate and contribute to following the construction schedule/project timeline.
- Assist the Superintendent in creating a safe and productive job site.
- Track your work progress and regularly compare it to the construction timeline.
- Lead by example; team building, communication, listening, and creative problem-solving.
Qualifications for Carpenter:
- 3 plus years of Commercial or Residential carpentry experience required
- Perform physical labor as directed by Superintendent
- Work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Experienced in Finished Carpentry and Framing, and work desired.
- High school diploma or equivalent
