Cardiology Supervisor supervises daily operations within the cardiology department. Monitors the work of staff members and ensures quality of tests, procedures, and other aspects of patient care. Being a Cardiology Supervisor typically requires a bachelor's degree or its equivalent. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. Additionally, Cardiology Supervisor may require licensure or certification in an area of specialty. The Cardiology Supervisor supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/ production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. Thorough knowledge of department processes.     PRIMARY DUTIES:

    • Assumes the responsibility of being the highest ranking administrative person in charge of the facility when other higher ranking administrators are not in house.
    • Assesses, evaluates, intervenes on inpatient wound care needs of patients.
    • Assists in the monthly scheduling process as needed. Determines adequate staffing coverage on the nursing units is maintained to the best level possible by assessing the number and level of personnel needed to provide quality patient care. Adjusts staffing and assignments appropriately by calling in or sending home staff as deemed necessary.
    • Other duties as needed.

    EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Currently licensed in the state of Indiana as an RN. Maintains this licensure and provides any licensure renewals or changes to Human Resources.
    • For the Wound Care Specialist role, a master’s degree in nursing and wound certification is required.
    • Must possess Basic Life Support certification or obtain prior to providing direct patient care. Maintains BLS certification per hospital policy.
    • Must possess and maintain Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification or be willing to obtain within reasonable time frame after hire.
    • Temperature, Airway, Blood pressure, Lab work, Emotional support (S.T.A.B.L.E.) certification is desirable but not required.
