Citrus Cardiology Consultants is looking for an Accountant for our Inverness offices. This position is responsible for processing invoices received for payment and for undertaking the payment of all creditors in an accurate, efficient and timely manner.

Responsibilities:

• Establishes internal controls and guidelines for accounting transactions.
• Preparation of business activity reports.
• Production of periodic financial reports; ensures that the reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles or financial reporting standards.
• Audits accounts to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations; coordinates with outside auditors and provides needed information for the mid-year and annual external audits.
• Payroll processing.
• Accounts Payable.
• Retirement plan and HSA submission.
• Sales tax calculations and remittances.
• Monthly adjusting entries and monthly closing.
• Maintains a documented system of accounting policies and procedures.
• Ensures compliance with local, state, and federal government requirements.
• Identifies and recommends updates to accounting processes and procedures.

Requirements and skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting. Commensurate experience will be considered in lieu of degree requirement.
• Five years or more of progressively responsible accounting experience required. Accounting degree and minimal experience will be considered in lieu of five years of work experience.
• Certified Public Accountant designation preferred but not required.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
• Proficient in accounting software. NetSuite and QuickBooks highly desired.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.
• Demonstrated advanced level spreadsheet experience.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
