Cardiology Director leads and directs the staff and programs of the cardiology department. Works closely with hospital staff and physicians to implement standards for patient care that comply with all laws and regulations. Being a Cardiology Director ensures the department meets the current needs and addresses the future needs of patients by introducing new technologies, services, and procedures. This position does not require MD. Additionally, Cardiology Director requires a master's degree. Typically reports to an executive. The Cardiology Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments. To be a Cardiology Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience. Job Summary
The Sonographer is responsible to provide cardiac ultrasound scans as directed by physician. Performs all duties and responsibilities in such a way as to demonstrate and support the hospital's Catholic heritage and Avera co-sponsorship values of hospitality, compassion and stewardship. Provides care/service in accordance with regulatory and accrediting agencies standards and Catholic Ethical and Religious Directives.
Education and/or Experience
- Graduate of an A.M.A. cardiovascular technology school and RDCS/RCS registry required. One year of experience preferred. Must have a working knowledge of cardiac and vascular pathology.
- 6 months to 1 year experience

Equivalent Combination of Education and Experience:
Associates degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; six months to one year related experience and /or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
Licensure/Certification/Registration

- RDCS/RCS required within 6 months of hire. Current CPR certification or completion upon next available program.
- RDCS/RCS required within 6 months of hire. Current CPR certification or completion upon next available program.
- Day Shift: 7:30 am - 4:00 pm; Monday - Friday
- Weekend Rotation: Typically one weekend/month
- Holiday Rotation: Approximately every 3rd
- 72 hours per 2 weeks
- Sign on Bonus $10,000
Pay
The hourly range for this position is listed below. The actual hourly rate is dependent upon experience.
