This position does not require MD. Additionally, Cardiology Director requires a master's degree. Typically reports to an executive. The Cardiology Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments. To be a Cardiology Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience.     Key Responsibilities/Essential Functions:

    • Attract, develop, and retain a high performing team of approximately 7 Cardiovascular Account Managers to achieve or exceed sales objectives.
    • Coach, train, supervise, and motivate sales professionals to exceed sales objectives. Provide prompt and objective feedback to enhance or improve performance by setting expectations and holding individuals accountable for performance and behavior.
    • Direct regional sales strategy to drive performance through execution of DEFINITY territory business plans to include allocation of time and resources according to customer segmentation. Provide feedback and support to ensure plans incorporate complex account management; identification and building of advocacy with key stakeholders and decision-makers, understanding potential competitive threats, understanding process and procedures concerns and issues.
    • Manage the regional sales expense budget and allocate according to best ROI principles.
    • Lead Business Team to appropriate Healthcare Professional call points and customer usage of DEFINITY® per approved PI. Effective sales communications to appropriate call points includes referring HCP, reading cardiologist, echo lab managers, medical directors, nurses, and the sonographers who execute the referral orders.
    • Cultivate and model productive relationships with key customers to include HCPs, Cardiologists, Sonographers, Nurses, Pharmacists, Purchasing, Department Administrators, and other key medical and administrative personnel.
    • Serve as an active member of the Commercial Leadership team, partnering with relevant cross functional departments to provide market intelligence and contributing to the development of business strategies in support of Definity brand/microbubble franchise objectives.
    • Foster an integrated customer account strategy and cultivate synergy among Medical Affairs and Marketing aimed at growth and continuous improvement. Identify and provide market intelligence about trends in patient/disease management, competing imaging modalities, reimbursement issues, etc. that may affect the appropriate usage of DEFINITY.
    • Prioritize multiple projects and drive focus on high impact opportunities; monitor sales team’s performance metrics, interpret, and execute actionable sales efforts, prioritizing customers and assigning responsibilities.
    • Demonstrate/Maintain a comprehensive understanding of the pharmaceutical, cardiac diagnostic/echocardiography industry as well as HealthCare Systems (e.g., IDN, GPOs, private practice Cardiology offices, P&T Committees, etc.)
    • Identify and execute concurrent large account management with 2-4 selected health systems or IDNs within region. Understand customer specifics needs and establish business plans and solutions to meet those needs. Communicate, align, and drive activities across Business Teams to execute on the IDN strategy; analyze account status to understand standardization opportunities and provide direction to team implement plans to expand corporate policies and procedures, develop and leverage relationships to assist in deal execution.
    • Identify strengths within team, provide opportunities for team to continue to develop and support LMI in succession planning for future leadership positions.
    • Understand and effectively communicate the DEFINITY value proposition to C-Suite level to mitigate pricing concerns and put focus back on benefits of timely and accurate diagnosis of cardiovascular disease. Support Head of National Accounts during competitive situations.
    • Actively demonstrate the Lantheus values of accountability, quality, customer service, efficiency, collaboration, and safety
    • Ensure a compliant, principled culture to promote Lantheus Holdings products and adhere to the highest ethical standards.

    Basic Qualifications:

    • Minimum requirements include BA or BS in an accredited 4-year college or university.
    • 10- years demonstrated successful hospital sales experience, including 4 years in a sales leadership role, ideally in Cardiology; demonstrate high clinical acumen and a focus on high priority opportunities
    • Skilled in the use computer software applications and video conferencing platforms, to include MS Office (Excel & PowerPoint) and CRM
    • Strong oral and written communications skills, with ability to present clinical information in a highly compelling and persuasive manner.
    • Excellent coaching skills to maximize the productivity of high performing Cardiovascular Imaging Specialists
    • Effective collaboration skills with internal and external stakeholders

    Other Requirements:

     Preferred

    • 8 years of successful cardiovascular hospital sales management experience
    • Has experience selling in the diagnostic imaging space, has established relationships with key thought leaders within cardiology/echocardiology?
    • Retains a current network of clinical and financial contacts in local healthcare organizations.
    • Field based role requiring routine overnight travel up to 80%; recurrent weekend or evening work may be required.
    • The candidate is required to reside within assigned territory.
    • Must meet “call metrics” (which may cover both in-person and virtual client engagement) and other requirements established for territory from time to time.
    • Must have valid driver’s license, qualified vehicle, and appropriate motor vehicle insurance.
    • Must acquire and maintain facility credentialing for access to medical facilities within assigned territory (including annual flu shot and all other vaccines required by medical facilities within assigned territory).
