Cardiac Technician jobs in New Mexico

Cardiac Technician operates heart/lung machines and related laboratory apparatus as well as physiological pressure monitoring systems. Prepares written documentation as required by the profession and the department, regarding individualized treatment plans, evaluation results, and progress reports. Being a Cardiac Technician may require an associate degree or its equivalent. Also may require completion of a certificate in health technology or scientific instrumentation in electrocardiography. Additionally, Cardiac Technician typically reports to a supervisor or manager. Cardiac Technician's years of experience requirement may be unspecified.     Responsibilities

    • Work under moderate supervision of nursing and medical staff to perform all necessary duties, which include assisting patients with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, eating, and other ADLs.
    • Observe patients’ progress to prepare and disseminate reports to Registered Nurse or other medical staff.
    • Obtain and record patients' vital signs and collects specimens for lab tests. 
    • Provide basic patient transport and housekeeping duties.
    • Measure and record patients' intake and output and other measurements in accordance with unit routines, assists patients with range of motion, and draws blood.

    Qualifications

    Job Requirements

    • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
    • Have BLS certification within 30 days of hire or transfer into position

    Preferred Job Requirements

    • Completion of approved CNA, PCT, or paramedic (EMT-P) certification which includes BLS, or currently enrolled in nursing school
    • Two (2) years’ experience in acute or long-term care
    • Experience in Phlebotomy or completion of a Phlebotomy course
    • Knowledge of medical terminology
