Cardiac Catheterization Technologist performs diagnostic and interventional cardiac catheterizations and other related procedures. Inserts small catheters through a needle into the blood vessels and into the heart so that X-rays, angiograms and other recordings can be taken to determine the heart's structure and function. Being a Cardiac Catheterization Technologist assist physicians with patient monitoring during surgery or procedures. Documents evaluation results, progress reports, treatment plans and other data using appropriate formats and systems. Additionally, Cardiac Catheterization Technologist some positions may require additional certifications such as: Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES). Requires an associate degree. Requires Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS). Requires Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS). Typically requires State License. Typically reports to a manager. Job Summary:The Director of Cardiac Catheterization and Interventional Cardiology is directly responsible for all clinical and non-clinical staff assigned to the units. The Director is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the clinical care and the day to day operations of the department, maintaining staffing, staff education, budgeting and fiscal needs, payroll, patient throughput, case load, inventory, quality improvement and tracking initiatives, and interdisciplinary relationships to achieve departmental goals.Qualifications –License, Education and/or Experience Required:A Bachelor’s degree in nursing is required. Masters in nursing is preferred, AND three to five (3-5) years of nursing leadership experience, of which at least one year was in a Cardiac Cath Lab; OR equivalent education and experience.**Housing provided, at least 3-month assignment**
