The Card Room Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. Extensive knowledge of department processes. The Nurse Manager for Surgical Services serves as a leader, team builder, and role model for Surgery and Central Sterile Processing employees. The Nurse Manager actively participates in service excellence (patient experience), surgeon satisfaction, and staff engagement. The Nurse Manager should have the ability to take a leadership role in departmental development, change management, operational excellence, and creating a healthy work environment.
What you will do in this role:
You will assist the Director with interviewing and selection, retention, disciplinary actions of department employees.
You will work in collaboration with the Educator for training and education.
You will assist the Director with managing productivity and efficiency targets
You will assist the Director with managing & addressing staff, surgeon, and administration concerns in a timely manner
You will promote and engage in Process Improvement, Quality Checks, and Operational Excellence
You will assist the Director on assessing compliance to best nursing practice and clinical performance, intervening to ensure that patient care outcomes are individualized, and ensuring the best outcomes are achieved.
You will assist the Director in ensuring the qualifications and competence of staff members meet the needs of patient care services and that all practices/procedures are in compliance with regulatory and quality standards
You will have oversight of daily operations of all departments noted, assist with organization and coordination of staffing in/between all units and facilitate coordination with other departments to streamline and improve patient throughput.
Must be a graduate from an accredited school of Nursing: Associate's Degree in Nursing or higher is required
Bachelor’s Degree required
Must be licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state which you practice and/or hold an active Compact/Multi-State RN license
A current American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) & Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) Health Care Provider is required
5 years of experience in surgical services, leadership preferred
