Capacity Planning Supervisor leads a capacity planning team to plan and monitor an organization's operating limits and capacities. Forecasts and plans capacity requirements to align with production schedules, resource levels, and inventory demand. Being a Capacity Planning Supervisor identifies and troubleshoots production issues or bottlenecks that impact plant capacity. Coordinates with internal stakeholders to understand future plans and develop responsive capacity forecasting. Additionally, Capacity Planning Supervisor utilizes production metrics and manufacturing research to develop insights on processes or equipment and recommend improvements. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Capacity Planning Supervisor supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/ production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. To be a Capacity Planning Supervisor typically requires 3-5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor.     JOB SUMMARY

    This position is responsible for coordinating development plan submissions and the associated review processes.

    MAJOR DUTIES

    • Coordinates development plan submittals, interdepartmental plan reviews, and customer inquires and meeting requests; keeps customers informed of problems or progress in the plan review process; compiles comments and recommendations as appropriate from staff reviews and ensures that reviews are completed within the required timeframes.
    • Reviews all submittals to ensure completeness per Town requirements; informs customers of deficiencies when submittals are deemed incomplete.
    • Coordinates pre-application and pre-construction meetings with external applicants and the town’s reviewing departments.
    • Maintains a database of metrics relating to plan review including, but not limited to, the number of submissions by type, the timeframe for completing reviews, etc.; provides reports on metrics to Town administration.
    • Performs a variety of clerical and administrative functions in support of assigned duties.
    • Works closely with permitting staff to resolve issues that arise in the processing of various types of permits.
    • Provides excellent customer service throughout all aspects of the job.
    • Performs related duties.

    KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED BY THE POSITION

    • Knowledge of relevant state codes and town ordinances.
    • Knowledge of development plan review policies and procedures.
    • Knowledge of the geographic layout of the town.
    • Knowledge of computers and job-related software programs

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

    • Knowledge and level of competency commonly associated with completion of specialized training in the field of work, in addition to basic skills typically associated with a high school education.
    • Sufficient experience to understand the basic principles relevant to the major duties of the position, usually associated with the completion of an apprenticeship/internship or having had a similar position for one to two years.
    • Or any equivalent combination of education and experience which provides required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
