Capacity Planner plans, measures, and monitors operating limits and capacities of an organization. Forecasts and plans capacity requirements to ensure alignment with department or unit and determine variance from production schedules, resource levels, and inventory demand. Being a Capacity Planner identifies and troubleshoots production issues or bottlenecks that impact plant capacity. Coordinates with internal stakeholders like engineering, sales, and marketing to understand and develop current and forecasted plans. Additionally, Capacity Planner utilizes manufacturing data and reports to drive key insights into efficiency, production rate, and other performance metrics. Produces reports that evaluate plant capacity and identify areas needing improvement. Recommends process and equipment improvements to optimize production capabilities. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Capacity Planner occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Gaining exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function.     THE POSITION Community Partners seeks a full time, exempt Manager, Capacity Building. Reporting to a Senior Program Director, this position plays a pivotal role in strengthening the organization capacity of our fiscally sponsored projects and works in collaboration with Fiscal Sponsorship team members on a range of activities. This position will be responsible for the designing, implementing and evaluating capacity building trainings that enhance the effectiveness and sustainability of our projects. This role requires a strategic thinker with a deep understanding of nonprofit operations, program development and organizational development. Community Partners staff are working remotely but are required to be in-office one day a week (which may increase in the future) and position is located in Los Angeles County. This role will be required to travel locally (across LA County) and provide on-site event support.


    RESPONSIBILITIES

    Training and Workshops 

    • Design and deliver peer learning convenings workshops, and technical assistance to address identified capacity gaps. Topics to include, but not limited to, fundraising, board development, strategic planning, program evaluation and financial management. 

    • Coordinate and prepare for peer learning convenings, workshops, trainings, and other events; when appropriate to meet in-person, research venues and manage the event specs including but not limited to logistics and setup, catering, A/V, and materials. 

    • Enter, compile, and analyze registration and participation data, including manually adjusting, formatting, and cleaning data sets. 

    • Process and submit invoices and payment requests; file corresponding paperwork; update tracking documents. 

    • When appropriate to meet in-person, travel across LA County to meetings, conferences, and other workrelated events and be on-call during those events to ensure that logistics run smoothly, and participants’ needs are met. 

    Mentorship and Coaching

    • Conduct comprehensive assessments of projects’ needs, identify strengths, and areas for improvement in programmatic and operational capacities. 

    • Develop customized capacity building plans based on assessment findings. 

    • Provide ongoing coaching and mentorship to project leaders and staff to support the implementation of capacity-building strategies. 

    Resource Mobilization

    • Collaborate with partners to identify and access resources, including grants, technical assistance providers, external capacity-building workshops, seminars, and networking opportunities. 

    Assessment and Evaluation 

    • Develop and implement assessment and evaluation tools to assess the impact of capacity-building interventions on fiscally sponsored projects. 

    Collaboration and Networking 

    • Foster relationships with other capacity-building organizations, funders, and stakeholders to enhance resources and opportunities for partners. 

    • Represent Community Partners publicly and help extend our civic reach through strategic networking and relationship building. 

    Administrative Support 

    • Maintain accurate records of communications with projects, progress, and outcomes. Generate reports for internal stakeholders. 

    • Provide programmatic, administrative, and events support on fiscal sponsorship initiatives, including thought partnership for content development, documentation of processes and learning, and conducting issue area-specific research and synthesizing findings. 

    • Track project timelines and remind internal and external colleagues about deadlines. 

    • Contribute to team efforts by accomplishing other duties as needed.


    COMPENSATION 

    Salary range: $72,000 - $95,000 depending on experience. 


    Benefits include paid holidays and vacation, a 403(b) plan (with employer match after two years), medical, dental, vision, flex spending, Metro pass, and a range of professional development opportunities. Community Partners has a 9/80 work week option under which employees may elect to work 80 hours in 9 days and take every other Friday off (after completion of introductory period).

    Requirements

    QUALIFICATIONS 

    • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) with at least 5 years of relevant work experience is required. 

    • Must have excellent organizational skills, be highly attentive to detail, and can manage multiple projects simultaneously in a busy, fast-paced, and evolving team environment. A passion and proven track record for detail-oriented work is required.

    • Demonstrate exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with diverse audiences including staff members in all positions throughout the organization, as well as external stakeholders such as event participants, vendors, and funders. 

    • Able to understand an issue and take initiative to develop and implement solutions. 

    • Experience in planning, executing, and evaluating high-quality events. 

    • Deep knowledge with the landscape of LA’s nonprofit, philanthropic, and governmentsectors preferred. 

    • Comfortably utilize Zoom and other digital platforms to host virtual, interactive convenings and team meetings. 

    • Proficiency in MS Office and multiple online platformsrequired. 

    • Ability to travel throughout Los Angeles County required.

    PHYSICAL 

    The employee is regularly required to sit for extended periods of time, frequently required to walk and stand.
