Capacity Planner plans, measures, and monitors operating limits and capacities of an organization. Forecasts and plans capacity requirements to ensure alignment with department or unit and determine variance from production schedules, resource levels, and inventory demand. Being a Capacity Planner identifies and troubleshoots production issues or bottlenecks that impact plant capacity. Coordinates with internal stakeholders like engineering, sales, and marketing to understand and develop current and forecasted plans. Additionally, Capacity Planner utilizes manufacturing data and reports to drive key insights into efficiency, production rate, and other performance metrics. Produces reports that evaluate plant capacity and identify areas needing improvement. Recommends process and equipment improvements to optimize production capabilities. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Capacity Planner occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Gaining exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function.   • Purpose:

    The overall objective of the Production Planner is to prepare and execute production plans, coordinate, and expedite workflow across departments in conjunction with daily/weekly/monthly production schedules. This position solves day-to-day operational issues to facilitate delivery of the overall manufacturing business plan.

    Scope:

    The position reports to the Manager of Production Planning and may be matrixed to other functional leaders within manufacturing operations.

    The Job Duties for this position include but are not limited to the following:

    • Production Planning and Scheduling
    • Ensure delivery of daily production requirements to meet customer commitments.
    • Create production schedule and align priorities with the right commercial requirements.
    • Daily maintenance and management of the scheduling system daily to support the operations.
    • Ensure achievement of manufacturing commitments commitment versus delivery.
    • Maintain the production schedule and other business reports as required. •
    • Analyze and prepare documents needed for production planning and execution.
    • Plan for raw material availability in conjunction with procurement team and timely quality control (QC) releases.
    • Follow-up, as required, with all teams to expedite the execution and documentation to meet production schedule and customer expectations.
    • Complete status reports for production progress, work in process, and raw material inventory.
    • Interact with shop floor management daily, to resolve issues regarding manufacturing plan execution.
    • Capacity Management
    • Identify and manage bottlenecks and capacity issues with the Production team as well as coordinate internally and externally on the resolution of the issues.
    • Provide support planning and execution of new launches.
    • Develop and maintain capacity calculation of the plant based on product mix.
    • Support review of new business opportunities.

    Education and Experience

    • Minimum bachelor’s degree in business administration, operations management, industrial engineering, pharmaceutical manufacturing, or related field of study from an accredited college/university.
    • Master’s degree in industrial engineering, operations management, pharmaceutical manufacturing, or related field of study from an accredited college/university is preferred.
    • Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in a pharmaceutical manufacturing operation and work environment.

    Technical Knowledge and Skills

    • Proficient user of personal computer hardware and software applications such as Microsoft Office tools, SAP, and other business applications.
    • Must be able to influence decision-making and facilitate completion of work toward the achievement of the business plan and goals.
    • Effective interpersonal relationship skills and the ability to work in a team environment.
    • Proficiency in the English language to include usage, spelling, grammar, and punctuation.
    • Must be a self-starter and demonstrate initiative while seeking additional training or direction as needed.
    • Must have strong organization and communication skills (written, verbal, and presentation).
    • Must be detail-oriented with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks with strict deadlines.

    Professional and Behavioral Competencies

    • Proficiently speak English as a first or second language.
    • Must be a self-starter and demonstrate initiative to seek additional training or direction as needed.
    • Must be willing and able to work any assigned shift ranging from first or second shift; work schedules may be Monday to Friday.
    • Knowledge of good manufacturing practices and good documentation practices preferred.
    • Ability to read, write and communicate effectively.
    • Self-motivated, with the ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
    • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to focus on details.

    Working Conditions & Physical Requirements

    • This role works in cGMP laboratory or manufacturing environment, where personal protective equipment (PPEs) is required.
    • Standing and lifting as needed.
    • Must be able to travel between Company units.

    Pay: $60,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
