Capacity Planner plans, measures, and monitors operating limits and capacities of an organization. Forecasts and plans capacity requirements to ensure alignment with department or unit and determine variance from production schedules, resource levels, and inventory demand. Being a Capacity Planner identifies and troubleshoots production issues or bottlenecks that impact plant capacity. Coordinates with internal stakeholders like engineering, sales, and marketing to understand and develop current and forecasted plans. Additionally, Capacity Planner utilizes manufacturing data and reports to drive key insights into efficiency, production rate, and other performance metrics. Produces reports that evaluate plant capacity and identify areas needing improvement. Recommends process and equipment improvements to optimize production capabilities. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Capacity Planner occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Gaining exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function.     About you and this role - What you will do in this role

    In this role, you will serve as a Maintenance Planner for Dow's Sabine River Operations (SRO) Site Leveraged Services Team located in Orange, TX.  Sabine River Operations is strategically located in the heart of the Dow Gulf Coast sites.  As a high value, large site in the Dow fleet, you will have opportunity to learn and deepen your skills across several different technologies and processes.

    You will create job packages from the information provided in a work order regarding required labor material and services to ensure safe, effective, and efficient execution of the work.

    The Maintenance Planner role is ideal for an experienced technician that:

    • Has a proven work history in a team environment where individuals often set priorities and complete work activities with minimal supervision.
    • Can clearly communicate verbally and in writing to internal and external partners.
    • Exhibits strong multi-tasking, problem solving and time management skills with minimal supervision.
    • Can lead by influence and collaborate with people of various backgrounds and experiences to achieve common goals.
    • Is skilled at building and maintaining collaborative relationships with operations and maintenance personnel, including site and facility leadership.

    The Details:

    As the Maintenance Planner, you will be ready to take on the following challenges and bring value to Dow as you:

    • Prepare job package and input plan into Global Engineering and Maintenance Tracking System (GEMTS) indicating the required resources, materials, and services.
    • Identify task activities necessary to execute job plan and identify materials/tools/equipment required to perform tasks.
    • Review work orders for technical completeness and returns work orders to gatekeeper, if not complete.
    • Carry out field checks, when needed.
    • Identify and solicit safety information and requirements necessary to safely perform tasks.
    • Use feedback from the person doing the work to optimize the work plans. 
    • Support Maintenance Procedure Use Policy by ensuring all job packages include a procedure or ensure the task is on the Procedure Exemption list before the job package is released.  Ensure all Maintenance Procedures include a hazard assessment prior to release.
    • Serve as a technical resource during procedure creation and review, as needed. 
    • Create, develop, or update job procedures and checklists, and initiates procedure Management of Change (MOC), as required.
    • Provide team leadership, act as subject matter expert when needed, and coordinate the work of others.
    • Demonstrate your commitment to a safe work environment by working safely and complying with environmental, health and safety standards.
    • Demonstrate leadership skills that inspire others and lead through influence.
    • Participate in all safety programs and required training.
    • Prove your commitment to maintain ethical integrity in both successes and setbacks.

    Qualifications - Required education, experience and abilities that are needed for this role (must haves)

    • A minimum of an Associate's degree in Maintenance Technology, Instrumentation or Electrical Technology or related field OR 3 or more years relevant experience.
    • Must have valid US Driver’s License.

    • Proficiency in Microsoft applications, such as Word, with ability to learn new systems quickly.
    • A minimum requirement for this U.S. based position is the ability to work legally in the United States.  No visa sponsorship/support is available for this position, including for any type of U.S. permanent residency (green card) process.

    Preferred Skills - An expanded list of qualifications that are "nice to have", but not essential

    • Experience with SAP.
    • Experience coordinating field activities in Maintenance or Production.
    • Knowledge and application experience with scheduling software/tools.

    Physical Requirements:

    Candidate MUST be willing and able to meet the physical demands of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation:

    • Wear required safety equipment, such as earplugs, goggles, and steel-toed shoes, including respirators, in areas of intense or continuous noise.
    • Lift, push, and pull with frequent bending and reaching, including drum handling.
    • Climb stairs/ladders and work high off the ground, including tight and closed in spaces.
    • Stand or walk for extended periods of time. 
    • Essential functions of this position may require use of safety equipment with weight limit thresholds that include the total of the individual’s weight plus any other tools/items carried to tools and other items and materials. Example: Safety equipment rated for a maximum weight limit of 300 total pounds.
