Capacity Planner plans, measures, and monitors operating limits and capacities of an organization. Forecasts and plans capacity requirements to ensure alignment with department or unit and determine variance from production schedules, resource levels, and inventory demand. Being a Capacity Planner identifies and troubleshoots production issues or bottlenecks that impact plant capacity. Coordinates with internal stakeholders like engineering, sales, and marketing to understand and develop current and forecasted plans. Additionally, Capacity Planner utilizes manufacturing data and reports to drive key insights into efficiency, production rate, and other performance metrics. Produces reports that evaluate plant capacity and identify areas needing improvement. Recommends process and equipment improvements to optimize production capabilities. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Capacity Planner occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Gaining exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function. The basic function of this role is to develop planned work packages for maintenance and turnaround repair work and improvement projects base on priorities established by the gatekeeper. The job plans must fully satisfy the notification of scope and include all material, services, resources, and appropriate scheduling logic between individual operations or tasks. This position must insure that sufficient amount of work is planned to satisfy production needs as well as the available work-hour capacity.
o Prepare the detailed plans necessary to safely and efficiently execute maintenance work that has been selected, prioritized and approved by the gate keeper
o Plan to appropriate detail including work hour and cost estimates, material requirements, access needs, etc.
o Planning and scheduling in coordination with site supervision.
o Create and maintain task lists for repetitive jobs
o Outline detailed work instructions for work execution, outlining, safety advice, resources, materials, tools and services
o Ensure that jobs are planned in a timely manner to support the requested notification requirement dates
o Ensure job resources are obtained and orders are set to the ready to schedule status
o Create and maintain bill of material (BOM)
o Review and purge the backlog on a weekly basis
o Close out jobs by entering notification history and technically completing orders on a weekly basis
o Review completed shop papers and update the associated task list
o Create and maintain maintenance plans
o Schedule maintenance work once it has been planned
Minimum Requirements:
o High school diploma or equivalent with 5 years of heavy industrial maintenance experience
o Excellent written and oral communication skills
o Computer proficiency for communications, failure analysis, and maintenance systems
o Strong ability for effective problem solving
o Ability to read drawings, P&ID, Isometric, Schematics, etc.;
o Multi-task oriented with good organizational skills and have the ability to work in a team environment
o Strong ability for effective problem solving
o Experience with maintenance, manufacturing and processing areas of an industrial maintenance environment
o Transportation Worker Identification Card (TWIC)
o Knowledge of Microsoft Office Products especially Excel
o Supervisory experience, craft experience in Millwright and/or Pipefitting preferred.
o NCCER Plus certification in Millwright or Pipefitting preferred.
Previous Zachry or JVIC experience preferred
