Campus Security Director jobs in Illinois
Campus Security Director directs and implements security and safety policies and procedures on campus. Manages the work activities of campus police and patrol units. Being a Campus Security Director requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a senior institutional officer. The Campus Security Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function. To be a Campus Security Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. General Description:
To ensure the safety and security of people in the building, as well as keeping the building safe and secure. He/she will report directly to the Dean of Students.
Job Qualifications:
- High school diploma
- Ability to communicate in writing and orally
- Ability to perform several tasks concurrently
- Ability to exercise tact, good judgment, and initiative in dealing with students, faculty, and the public
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely
- No physical limitations
- Ability to identify sensitive information and maintain confidentiality

Responsibilities:
- Implements school safety and security activities
- Assist with the monitoring of student movement and behavior throughout the school day
- Team with appropriate school personnel about student behavior and behavior-related issues
- Assist with the control of disruptive students
- Escort and assist students to assigned areas
- Ensure that school policies and procedures are followed
- Work with first responders in regard to security and safety
- All other duties as assigned
Salary: $18.00/hr; Monday through Friday - 8:30am - 4:30pm
