Summary of Position
Keene State College is seeking a highly skilled event planner, scheduler, and multi-tasker with exceptional customer service skills to serve as the Director, Campus Ceremonies and Event Scheduling.
Reporting to the Associate Vice President of Student Engagement, the Director is responsible for updating the 25Live Scheduling System, making necessary modifications and improvements to the system and staying abreast of the new services offered by the software and implementing those appropriate for campus; provides training to faculty and staff on the scheduling system to increase understanding of the tool and increase reservation efficiency; works closely with college leadership and other key staff to develop policies and procedures, guidelines, checklists, and planning tools; works with the team of schedulers and provides professional expertise and direction to ensure successful execution of event leadership and ensures institutional brand and adherence of policies and procedures set forth by this group.
Additional responsibilities included: serving as the point person for large campus ceremonies, working with campus resources, managing logistics, and performing administrative tasks; executing prominent college events to generate maximum exposure and support the institution’s mission, vision, and values; providing tools to empower individuals in the areas of planning and execution of events to ensure successful events; ensuring an exemplary commencement experience through expert planning and leadership and works closely with campus partners to create a well-trained and viable events volunteer program for the college.

- Bachelor’s degree
- 3-5 years’ experience in event management or related experience
- Experience in planning special events that require complex, logistical production and high-level organization of tasks.
- Excellent organization, written and oral skills.
- Experience leading and directing teams, ability to collaborate with departments.
- Experience with software and systems, and desire to learn and adapt to new technology.
- Demonstrate knowledge of good judgement in matters of mission, vision, and values.
- Proven leadership in the management and execution of high caliber events.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Proven responsibility with budget management and contract negotiation.
- Demonstrated initiative-taker, adaptable and flexible management skills with the ability to pivot quickly based on needs.
- Ability to represent the college with professionalism, poise, tact and sincerity.
- Ability to maintain effective working relationships with faculty, staff, and students and must be able to work effectively as part of a team and independently as the project lead.
- Ability to work non-traditional hours as required, including evenings and weekends.
- Demonstrated supervisory skills.
Additional Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with 25Live Software.
- Event management experience in a college or university.
- Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality, Event or Project Management, Service Management, or related field.
- Work experience in a college/university environment.
- Event and conference sales and management experience.
- Experience in or strong familiarity with Keene State service departments.
