Campus Police Supervisor leads the investigation and apprehension of campus criminals. Protects life and property safety on campus. Being a Campus Police Supervisor ensures compliance with state laws, city ordinances, and university regulations. May require a bachelor's degree. Additionally, Campus Police Supervisor requires P. O.S.T. certification. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Campus Police Supervisor manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. This is a full-time, 12-month, non-exempt position that reports to the Campus Police Sergeant and is located at the main campus in Quincy, Illinois. Position begins immediately.
JOB DESCRIPTION
This position is responsible for performing a wide range of campus police services to the campus community. This includes but is not limited to responding to emergencies, crime prevention, detection, investigation, special event security, and customer service. This position maintains a knowledge of and enforces all local, state, and federal laws as well as Board of Trustees policies. In addition, this position will maintain a working knowledge of campus buildings and grounds including locations of utilities, alarms, and all other safety equipment.
QUALIFICATIONS
A High School Diploma or equivalent is required; 3-5 years of experience in law enforcement is preferred. Must have an Illinois sworn law enforcement officer certification or equivalent, valid driver's license, and Illinois FOID card.
