The Campus Events Supervisor reports directly to the Director, Physical Plant and works closely with University Operations team, including the Director, University Operations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Logistics will fulfill work orders that may request office moves, or other moving/placing across campus.
Events will be the primary focus of this position, which will include but not limited to:- Setup/breakdown of events and the coordination thereof. This will include stages, tents, pipe and drape, tables/chairs or whatever may be needed for particular events.
- The supervisor will work closely with the Operations Director and the Customer Service Representative within Physical Plant. Supervisor will report to Physical Plant Director.
- Weekly meetings to discuss upcoming University events will be necessary.
- Great communication skills are necessary when coordinating events with the Operations Director in regard to deadlines, capacities, inventories, staffing, etc.
- Inventory of campus items such as tables/chairs, stages, pipe and drape, floor coverings, etc. will need to be kept up to date, reported when damaged, and replaced as needed.
- Must have the ability to load a truck with care, being sure that items are wrapped and protected when being transported across campus.
- Multi-tasking will be necessary, and the ability to keep a cool demeanor when working under stressful conditions.
- Supervisory skills and the ability to task staff with specific directions are extremely important.
- The Supervisor must also be hands-on during Events and campus moves/directives.
- A professional appearance and polished communication skills are necessary.
Salary/Hours- Minimum Pay Rate: $18.00 per hour
- Hours will vary depending upon university events but will typically range between 6:30am-8:00pm with varying weekly schedules. Overtime during weekdays and holidays will be required if needed.
Job Requirements: Education, Experience and Skills:- Must be able to lift 100 lbs.
- Must be able to lift and carry heavy loads up and down stairs.
- Ability to be on foot during events, for extended periods of time as necessary.
- High school diploma or GED and 0-3 years of experience required.
Supervision:- Will supervise the Logistics/Events team
- May supervise student workers.
