Oregon City High School is a comprehensive high school with approximately 2,000 students, located in the suburban Portland/Metro area. QUALIFICATIONS:
Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
Must have or be willing to obtain the DPSST certification for an Unarmed Professional.
Ability to make some independent judgments with prescribed policies and procedures.
Ability to work independently, adapt to a wide variety of assignments, and solve problems.
Ability to communicate with appropriate student age groups requiring the use of both empathetic, restorative, and disciplinarian approaches.
Must have the ability to take direction appropriately, changing tasks as necessary.
Ability and desire to work on a team.
Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with supervisor, other staff, parents, and students.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supervises and monitors in-school suspension with students who need a positive mentor, someone who can hold them accountable, and support them in their work.
Supervises the buildings and campus throughout the school day; patrolling hallways, restrooms, and campus grounds (including school parking lots).
Monitors campus for students and visitors, including student tardiness, student truancies, student hall passes, visitor passes, and unauthorized persons on campus.
Reports and responds to students who are off campus or in unauthorized areas of campus.
Responds to situations on school grounds such as medical needs, trouble areas, student behavior issues, etc.
Responds to and investigates student management situations (investigations include conflict management, questioning, search & seizure, etc).
Facilitates proactive conflict resolution, deescalating strategies, and problem-solving strategies.
Maintains appropriate documentation and proactively communicates with staff, students, and families.
Supports/Supervises detention, in-school suspension, and Saturday School as appropriate.
Provides students with a positive adult mentor while continuing to hold them accountable.
Supports office personnel with deliveries, messages, and other school needs.
Performs other duties relative to the safety of the high school as assigned by administration.
