Campus Police Officer conduct patrols on campus to ensure security of buildings, students and staff. Responds to requests for assistance and emergencies. Being a Campus Police Officer enforces vehicle and traffic regulations. Investigates crimes. Additionally, Campus Police Officer may conduct educational activities related to safety and crime prevention. Typically require associate degree in criminal justice. May require POST(Peace Office Standards and Training) certification. Typically reports to Police Supervisor. The Campus Police Officer occasionally directed in several aspects of the work.     The Pelham Police Department is currently accepting applications to fill vacancies for F/T and P/T Police Officers. Minimum qualifications for this position include: a minimum of 60 credit hours in an associate or baccalaureate educational program, or two years of full-time experience as a certified police officer at the time of appointment, or four years of active duty military experience with an honorable discharge; possess valid driver’s license; be a U.S. citizen; be in good physical condition; and possess the ability and desire to deal with the public. Candidates will be required to complete a rigorous hiring process, to include: written exam; physical agility testing; oral board; psychological exam; polygraph exam and medical/physical exam; as well as an extensive background check.
