Position Summary:The Store Manager is responsible for making volume and profits for the assigned store through effective management of store staff and execution of company programs, policies and procedures. He or she gains the experience needed to progress to the next level of responsibility.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
A. Sales1. Adheres to all corporate Sales and Customer Service programs and ensures customer satisfaction.2. Effectively motivates others to meet and exceed sales plans and customer programs.
Effectively communicates financial goals to other members of store management.3. Analyzes sales trends by using all available resources and makes recommendations to the
District Manager for increasing sales.4. Actively supports store in complying with and conducting contests and promotions.
B. Human Resources1. Ensures proper staffing by proactively recruiting and effectively utilizing the Company
On-boarding process for interviewing and retaining Associates.2. Provides for Associate development through disciplined use of store training programs, thus encouraging internal promotions to support company growth.3. Effectively motivates Associates to achieve position requirements and provides regular feedback on performance, including constructive and disciplinary conversations, as necessary.4. Ensures that store-level Monthly Performance Reviews(MPR’s) are performed in a timely manner.5. Follows appropriate protocol for Associate Relations issues.
C. Operations1. Maintains and controls all expenses to ensure store profitability. Makes all Associates partner in cost savings measures.2. Protects all corporate assets by following Loss Prevention guidelines.3. Ensures efficient use of payroll dollars by utilizing effective scheduling practices.4. Completes, maintains and submits all required company paperwork on a timely basis.5. Ensures adherence to all company policies and procedures.6. Provides for a well maintained, clean and organized store to support efficient operations and a pleasant shopping environment.
D. Merchandising and Marketing1. Ensures that all aspects of inventory integrity occur (Receiving and Returns, Price Changes,
Sensitive Merchandise counts).2. Effectively merchandise store in accordance with (C.R.I.S.P.) requirements..3. Strives to continually increase personal product knowledge and that of all store Associates.4. Actively shops competition to maintain awareness of strategies, developments and opportunities.5. Ensures that the store is in stock on key titles and communicates "stock outs".
E. Management1. Projects the role of the Store Manager as the senior member of the management team.2. Establishes a positive, professional, sales and profit-oriented atmosphere.3. Leads by setting the appropriate example.4. Shows fairness and good judgment in decision making and delegation of responsibilities.5. Exhibits sense of awareness, urgency and organization.6. Responsible for analyzing financial reports on a monthly basis to develop an action plan for sales and profit maximization.7. Demonstrates ability to plan, organize, delegate, execute and follow-up.8. Assists District and Regional Manager with special projects.9. Qualifications:1. Candidate must possess one to two years of prior management experience, retail is preferred.2. Candidate must possess professional and leadership skills and attributes.3. Candidate must be available for a minimum of 44 hours per week.
