  • I.Position Overview:

    The Calibration Technician installs, maintains, tests, repairs, and calibrates a wide range of electrical/mechanical equipment in a Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) environment in accordance with environmental, health, safety, and cGMP guidelines.

    II.Essential Functions:

    Monitors and maintains calibration of equipment in a cGMP facility.

    Performs calibration on bioreactors, Conductivity, Dimensional, Flow (air & liquid) Humidity, Level, Load cells & Scales, pH, Pressure, Resistance, Speed, Temperature, and various laboratory and process instrumentation.

    Ensures all calibrations are performed in a timely manner.

    Follows standard calibration procedures per Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s).

    Provides input into the review and revisions of SOP’s.

    Documents all work in controlled documents in accordance with SOP’s.

    Performs all work in accordance with company policies and procedures.

    III.Position Requirements:

    Education or Equivalent:A High School Diploma or equivalent is required. Associate’s degree in a science related or electronic technical training or equivalent is preferred.

    Experience:A minimum of 2 years of years of related experience in electronics or as a calibration technician is required. Minimum of 2 years of experience in a cGMP manufacturing environment is required.

    Prior experience in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology or medical device industry preferred.

    Must have experience using a Calibration Software system. Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Software (CMMS) Maximo is preferred but not required.

    PMEL (Precision Measuring Equipment Laboratory) experience is preferred.

    Certification:None Required.

    Knowledge/Skills Requirements:

    Familiarity with general lab instrumentation and procedures is preferred.

    Mathematical skills including the ability to perform frequent calculations.

    Mechanical aptitude.

    Must demonstrate appropriate safety consciousness.

    Demonstrates attention to detail.

    Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

    Excellent organizational skills.

    Ability to manage multiple priorities at one time and adjust priorities as necessary.

    Ability to manage both day-to-day operations as well as project work in a fast-paced environment.

    Must be able to work well independently and in a team environment.

    Must be proficient in MS Office Suite.

    Must be familiar with calibration software preferred.

    Physical Requirements:

    The physical demands here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

    Must have the ability to lift up to 50 pounds.

    Requires physical activity such as standing for long periods of time, walking, and working with hands.

    This position requires minimum travel. Average travel for this position is less than 5% with some variation based upon the demands of the business imperative.
