Position Summary
Oversee and direct the Casino Cage and Vault.
Supervision Exercised
Reports to the General Manager of Gaming Operations.
Supervise and lead the work of assigned personnel.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintains control of the Cage/Vault Department’s Budget by keeping Payroll and operating expenses in line with business volumes.
- Ensures all Cage/Vault employees receive training on Internal Controls and operating systems.
- Ensures all staff are efficiently scheduled in accordance with key volume indicators and guest service needs.
- Schedules and directs the work of cage and vault staff.
- Ensures compliance with the Cage/Vault Department Internal Controls.
- Effectively communicates with Cage/Vault staff through Stand-ups.
- Oversees and monitors drop cash transfers into vault.
- Reconciles cash counts and other paperwork on a daily basis.
- Ensures each Cage/Vault Associate provides accurate, friendly, timely and courteous service to customers.
- Provides reports to General Manager of Gaming Operations and other department managers as necessary.
- Oversees preparation and maintenance of W2-G reporting system.
- Responsible for communication and coordination with Sandia Tribal Gaming Commission, Revenue Audit and external auditors.
- Performs additional duties and responsibilities as necessary or assigned.
Secondary Duties and Responsibilities
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Ability to supervise, lead and direct the work of assigned staff.
- Ability to deal effectively with the public and casino staff.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Ability to use a CRT terminal.
- Knowledge of casino accounting requirements preferred and thorough analytical and problem solving ability.
- Ability to perform the physical requirements of the position.
Minimum Qualifications, Education and Experience
Required:
- High School Diploma, GED certification or equivalent.
- Four (4) years’ experience in a banking, public accounting or related position.
- Two (2) years casino cage experience.
- One (1) year supervisory experience.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s Degree in accounting or related field.
Licensing Status
- Must be able to obtain and maintain the required Gaming License.
- Will require a post-offer, pre-employment and random drug screening.
Working Conditions
- Work is performed indoors.
- Work hours subject to change with overtime work required.
- Must be able to work long hours under stressful conditions.
- Subject to hazards that may cause personal bodily harm: smoke, common colds, influenza, dust, odors and elevated noise levels.
- Tasks may be performed on uneven, inclined, hard and soft carpeted floors, cement structures and surfaces.
- Duties may involve walking, standing for long periods of time, sitting and crouching.
- Specific required movements include the following:
- Trunk-bend, twist, rotate, push, pull, and carry
- Arms-reach, carry, push, pull, lift, twist, and rotate
- Legs-lift, push, pull, twist, and rotate
- Hands-grasp, manipulate, bilateral coordination, eye and hand coordination, overall and finger dexterity.
