Cafeteria Manager manages an on site company cafeteria. Oversees operations including ordering, inventory, meal planning, food preparation, and service. Being a Cafeteria Manager ensures operations are in compliance with all food safety and sanitation regulations. Manages and trains cafeteria staff. Additionally, Cafeteria Manager may require an associate degree or its equivalent. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Cafeteria Manager supervises a small group of para-professional staff in an organization characterized by highly transactional or repetitive processes. Contributes to the development of processes and procedures. Thorough knowledge of functional area under supervision. Schedules, coordinates, and participates in a wide variety of food preparation and service, food safety, distribution, accountability and related tasks in compliance with federal school meal regulations. This job is performed in cafeteria operations with a weighted average daily participation rate range of 501 meals served to 800 meals served and involves supervising personnel in cooking, preparing, and serving food as well as cleaning food service areas.
