Cafeteria Manager manages an on site company cafeteria. Oversees operations including ordering, inventory, meal planning, food preparation, and service. Being a Cafeteria Manager ensures operations are in compliance with all food safety and sanitation regulations. Manages and trains cafeteria staff. Additionally, Cafeteria Manager may require an associate degree or its equivalent. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Cafeteria Manager supervises a small group of para-professional staff in an organization characterized by highly transactional or repetitive processes. Contributes to the development of processes and procedures. Thorough knowledge of functional area under supervision.     Starting rate: $15.00

     

    Part-Time (4.75 hrs per day)  Middle/High School Cafeteria Vacancy   Work Hours: 8:15am-1:30pm  

     

    Are you currently a van/bus driver looking for some additional duties throughout the day interacting with the students?  This is the job for you!

    Ability to work in a friendly manner with co-workers and students.  Ability to develop effective working relationships with students, staff and the school community.  Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing. Ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and Board of Education policies.

     

    EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:   

    High school diploma or general education degree (GED).

     

    LANGUAGE SKILLS:

    Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.           

     

    MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

    Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, and talk or hear. The employee will frequent1y bend or twist at the neck and trunk while performing the duties of this job. The employee frequently is required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is often required to reach with hands and arms. The employee must often lift and/or move up to 50 pounds such as milk crates, frozen foods, canned food etc.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works in temperatures above

    100°F, below 32°F and occasionally will walk on slippery surfaces.  The employee must be able to meet deadlines with severe time constraints and interact with the public and other workers.  The noise level in the work environment is frequently loud to where you have to raise your voice to be heard.  The employee has a greater than average risk of getting a minor injury such as a cut or burn while performing the duties of this job.
